38-year-old man Arrested for Sexual Assault on Minor Girl
Udupi: A 38 -year-old man was arrested on September 30 for alleged sexual assault of a minor girl in Byndoor.
The arrested has been identified as Deepu alias James a resident of Bisinapare, Jadkal village in Byndoor Taluk.
According to the press release issued by the SP office, it has been stated that on May 12 the accused had mixed drugs in the juice and forced the girl to drink it. He later took the girl to a lodge in Manipal and sexually assaulted her. The Girl later registered a complaint with the Udupi women’s police station. As per the girl’s complaint, the police registered a POCSO case against the accused. When the accused came to know that the victim had lodged a complaint against him, he absconded. The Udupi SP formed a special team led by DySP Kundapur to arrest the accused.
Under the direction of SP Nisha James, ASP Kumarchandra the team lead by Hariram Shanker DySP Kundapur and staff Mohan, Chandrashekar, Prince, Krishan arrested the accused.
