51st College Day celebration at St Aloysius Evening PU College

Mangaluru: St Aloysius Evening PU College celebrated 51st College Day on Tuesday, 12 December 2017. The college consists of economically deprived students who work during the day to meet the ends of their families and study in the evening with a hope of having a better future.

Speaking on the occasion the Chief Guest, Mrs Elvira Philomina, President of the Dakshina Kannada PU Principals’ Association and Principal of Government PU College, Car Street, Mangaluru applauded the efforts of the students of the College who work by the day and study in the evening and also the management and staff for the dedication. She also stated that it is the only evening PU College in Dakshina Kannada.

The President of the function, Rev. Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, Rector of St Aloysius Institutions in his presidential remarks said that the College carries the ethos of the Society of Jesus and that St Aloysius College has given to the society the education it needs. The Principal, Rev. Fr Melwin Mendonca SJ presented the Annual report that featured the activities of the College round the year. The student achievers were honoured for their achievements.

Among the other cultural programmes the highlight was the play on mother’s love and sacrifice “ Ammna 8 Sullugalu” put up by the students. Gracing on the dais were the dignitaries Rev. Fr John Lang Bosco SJ, the Finance Officer, Dr Pradeep M, Coordinator of the College and Mr Paul D’Souza the Convener of the College Day.
