6 Die of COVID-19 and 194 Persons Test Positive in DK on August 8
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, 6 persons have died of COVID-19, and 194 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus in Dakshina Kannada district on August 8.
Out of the 194 cases tested positive, 129 persons are from Mangaluru, 15 from Bantwal, 16 from Belthangady, 16 from Puttur, 7 from Sullia, and 11 from other districts.
Out of the 194 positive cases, 15 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts, 98 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), and 15 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI). The health officials are tracing the contacts of 69 others.
So far 7075 positive cases have been reported in the district, and 214 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 3374 active cases in the district.
All the 194 persons have been shifted to the designated COVID hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, 183 persons were also discharged from the hospital after complete recovery.
