Covid-19: Foreign students tested negative

Udupi: Two students from US and Kuwait, who were admitted to Kasturba Hospital after they were found suffering from cough and fever, have tested negative for Covid-19 on Thursday.

District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Sudhirchandra Sooda told DH that the blood samples and throat swabs of students studying in KMC-Manipal were sent for test at a lab in Shivamogga.

Another student from Malaysia, who was found with symptoms of Covid-19, was admitted to an isolation ward in Kasturba Hospital. The blood and throat swab samples have been sent to a laboratory and the lab results are awaited. A woman from Sagar, who tested negative for Covid-19, is still experiencing bouts of fever. Hence, her blood samples and throat swabs were sent for the second time to the lab in Shivamogga and the results were expected on Saturday.

    So Shivamogga has a better testing lab than Manipal? Have I missed anything?
