Anticipating Modi’s Win & to Celebrate, Kudla Fans of ‘Chowkidar’ hosting a ‘Yakshagana’- “Sri Devi Mahathme” on 24 May 2019 at 8.30 pm in Car Street, Mangaluru

Mangaluru : Last year, on 29 December 2018, “Team Modi”, earlier known as “Namo Brigade” had organized a Yakshagana ‘Sri Devi Mahatme’ by Kateel Sri Durga Parameshwari Prasaditha Yakshagana Mandali at Mannagudda, with an aim to see Narendra Modi become Prime Minister again- and now as the results date is fast approaching on 23 May 2019, once again Team Modi joined by other pro-Modi organizations like- “Namo Mission 400 Plus”; “Namo Again”, among others, celebrating Narendra Modi’s win again, and offer their prayers to the Goddess, have planned to host yet another Yakshagana named “Sri Devi Mahathme” by Kateel Mela on 24 May 2019, a day after the election results.

Anticipating Modi’s win all these pro-Modi organizations have already booked Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Prasaditha Yakshagana Mandali to stage the Yakshagana “Sri Devi Mahathme”, because it is learnt that in Tulunadu it is a custom for devotees to host “Sri Devi Mahathme” Yakshagana by Kateel Mela in their homes or at open public places when their wishes come true. So similarly, the Yakshagana planned by these pro-Modi organizations is a “Harake”(Vow) offer.

Speaking to Media, one of the organizer Naresh Shenoy said, “We had vowed that ‘Sri Devi Mahathme” Yakshagana will be staged again if Narendra Modi wins again in the Lok Sabha elections, to become PM again. We had vowed to offer the Yakshagana with the confidence that Modi will become Prime Minister again. Since election results date is on 23 May, and it is not possible to host a Yakshagana from 25 May, due to “Pathanje”( End of festivals and Yakshagana season in Tulunadu). Therefore, the Yakshagana is planned for 23 May in Car Street, Mangaluru from 8.30 pm till the wee hours”.

“We were lucky to book the Kateel Mela since they are very busy during the season, and May month is the end of their Yakshagana season, and also the start of monsoons, where their plays can’t be staged open air. We thank Naresh Prabhu for booking the Kateel Mela for this occasion, and we request supporters of Modi to come in large numbers for the Yakshagana, and be a part of the celebrations” added Shenoy.
