Anupama Shenoy withdraws plea in HC against Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru: Anupama Shenoy, former DySP, withdrew her petition in the Karnataka High Court against former chief minister Siddaramaiah for accepting a Hublot wristwatch as gift, while serving as a public servant.

Anupama had moved the court seeking directions to the Central government, and the director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to act on her representation.

She had sought a CBI probe stating that the agency should investigate corruption, criminal breach of trust, criminal conspiracy and nepotism behind the controversy.

The court observed that the Anti Corruption Bureau had closed the case after holding an inquiry based on petitions filed by RTI activists seeking a probe. Furthermore, another petition is pending before the high court.

The court also gave liberty to the petitioner to move the court again.
