Baha’is Celebrate 200th Birth Anniversary of the BÁB – The Herald of a New Dawn

Mangaluru: The bicentenary of the birth anniversary of the Báb, the Prophet-Herald of the Bahá’i Faith was celebrated with pomp and glory by the Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’is of Mangalore on 3rd November 2019 at the Netravati Sabha Bhavana, Mini Vidhana Soudha Campus, Mangalore.

Speaking as Chief Guest on the occasion Asha Nayak, Senior Advocate, highlighted the principles of the Bahá’i Faith, propagated by Bahá’u’lláh as that of the oneness of God, the oneness of religion and the oneness of Mankind, equality of men & women, compulsory education, an universal auxiliary language and universal peace and its relevance to the modern times, when the world though has advanced in leaps and bounds, has come to regress socially and morally, specially the generation next, and it is the duty of parents to guide their wards in this direction and bring in the much-needed brotherhood and peace. The Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’is of Mangalore conducts Devotionals, Children’s Moral Classes, Junior Youth Spiritual Empowerment Programme and classes for the adults etc.,

Pro. Dr C S Mala Mallikarjun, Dean-Students Welfare, BMS Institute of Technology and Management, Bangalore spoke on the Báb – the Herald of a New Dawn, recounting His Mission in the middle of the 19th Century, while the entire world was passing through a moral breakdown, foretold the advent of a great Messenger of God, for which He suffered persecution and ultimately, His execution – she stressed on His call for spiritual and moral reformation which was the need of the day.

Basty Ganesh Shenoy, Chairman of the Assembly, introduced the guests and conducted the event, followed by prayers, bhajans, songs and dances by the friends. The Vote of thanks was rendered by Shamin Pulikoden, the Secretary of the Spiritual Assembly.
