Bajpe Police Recover 8 Petrol Bombs and Machetes at Ganjimatt

Mangaluru: The Bajpe police recovered 8 petrol bombs near Airtel Tower at Ganjimatt here on March 30.

Speaking to mangalorean.com, Aziz said that near Rifa Apartment, there is an Airtel tower. On March 30, Aziz’s family had reached their rented house in Mangaluru from Mumbai. They had rented a flat in Rifa Apartments, Ganjimatt for their chidren’s education in Mangaluru. Aziz’s wife, after cleaning the house, went to throw the waste near the Airtel tower where she saw some bottles stuffed with cloth. When Aziz returned home in the evening at around 6 pm, she informed him about the bottles. Aziz then informed his neighbour Mohammed Sheriff about the bottles along with the cloth. Mohammed Sheriff then informed the Bajpe police.

Immediately, the Bajpe police along with the forensic team and finger print experts reached the spot. While investigating, they found that the bottles were actually petrol bombs. Police also recovered two machetes near the bottles.

DCP of Law and Order Santosh Babu said that on February 28, a person had been arrested from K C Road Mangaluru for possessing large quantity of petrol. “We have to see whether there is any connection between the recovered bombs and the man who was arrested on February 28.”

Bajpe police recovered the bombs and two Machetes. Later Police commissioner Murugan also visited the spot.
