Beltangady: Chandrashekhar (40), son of Krishna Suvarna of Malpe Kola locality in Udupi taluk, died in a ghastly road collision near Ayyappa temple off Guruvayanakere on Friday.
He and Ravi (43), a resident of Kurkal in Kunjarugiri, also of Udupi taluk, had gone on a visit to Dharmasthala in a bike and were returning home. A tipper vehicle arriving from Karkala direction hit the bike.
Chandrashekhar got thrown to the road and the rear wheel of the tipper is said to have run over his head, resulting in his death on the spot.
Ravi sustained injuries and was admitted to the government hospital in Beltangady. The town police have registered a case.
