Bengaluru: Shri Raghaveshwara Bharati of Hosanagara Math may have got a brief reprieve as the 51st sessions court here declined to cancel the anticipatory bail granted to him earlier.
On Monday, the CID filed an application for the cancellation of the bail, arguing that the Swamiji had been refusing to cooperate in the matter of a total medical test and also in the investigations.
His advocate argued that he had already appeared for medical tests and also cooperated in the probe.
Consequently, the court has upheld the arguments and rejected the CID’s petition to cancel the anticipatory bail granted to him. The Swamiji is facing charges of repeated sexual assault as levelled by a former female vocalist of the Math.
On the other hand, the high court is hearing a case in which it has refused to drop charges of sexual assault in the last verdict pronounced.
