BJP cannot tolerate development of Udupi City – Congress Councillors

Udupi: BJP cannot tolerate THE development of Udupi City said Councillor Ramesh Kanchan. He was speaking at the CMC meeting held at Sathyamurthy Auditorium, here on October 28.

As chaos erupted over the tender process of Vishweshwaraiah Complex, the BJP alleged that the guidelines formulated by the government were not effectively followed, Ramesh Kanchan said that the BJP which speaks against the government had leased the Town Hall to a private firm. BJP councillors said that the Congress government has leased a hospital to a private firm which should be condemned. Raged Congress councillors said that the hospital will serve people effectively. Their assumptions and criticism will find answers soon.

Yashpal Suvarna said that the CMC has failed in producing documents relating to the Vishweshwaraiah Complex bidding process. Commissioner Manjunathayya said that transparency has been maintained in the bidding process and procurement, all necessary documents will be produced.

Prashant Amin who was standing holding a notice, “let me ask a question” was ignored for a long time, he was later allowed to ask the question. Hitting hard on the CMC president, Meenakshi Madhav Bannaje said that she has failed to control the meeting by allowing the ruckus in the meeting to prevail.

Sashiraj Kunder said that traffic police were not effectively monitoring traffic in the city. The street vendors are indulged in manhandling CMC officials. Town police station PSI Ananthapadmanabha said that all efforts will be held to monitoring the traffic and preventing street vendors creating inconvenience to the public. The log jam by street vendors will be effectively controlled, he added.
