Addressing the gathering Mattar Rathnakar Hegde condemning the Opposition party’s Akrosh Divas against demonetisation, congratulated the people of Udupi for not supporting the Akrosh Divas and backing Narendra Modi. The decision of the prime minister to demonetise high-value currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 is indeed a welcome move to get rid of the black money.

Congress leader K H Muniyappa has also appreciated demonetisation. Currently, 45 percent of the black money has been tracked. The equality proposed by the prime minister in terms of white money suffered hindrances in the initial phase. But the situation is returning to normalcy as the days are passing. After Demonetisation corruption would be effectively checked and anti-national and anti-social activities would be crushed, he added
