Journalist Manjushree G Naik Awarded PhD in Journalism
Udupi: Journalist Manjushree G Naik, daughter of Ganapathy and Vanitha Naik from Bhatkal, Uttar Kannada has been awarded PhD degree in journalism from the School of Communication, Manipal University recently.
She had submitted a thesis on Status of Working Women Journalists in Karnataka: A Comparison Between Print / Television and English / Kannada Media under the guidance of Dr Padma Rani, Associate Director, school of Communication which fetched her the PhD award.
Manjushree G Naik presently working as Udupi district correspondent for an English Daily.
First of its kind in Karnataka and one among the three works taken up at all India level. The women journalists from all over the state have take part in the research survey. the study concentrates on the problems encountered by the women journalists and also offers suggestion for the betterment of the scenario.
