Byndoor: Bodies of Two Persons Found Hanging Near Souparnika River
Byndoor: The bodies of a man and a woman were found hanging near the Souparnika River in the Charsal area of Golihole village, within the limits of Byndoor Police Station.
Police identified the deceased as Vittal Naik, 35, and Bhavya alias Nishmitha, 33. Both had been accused in a criminal case registered at Kollur Police Station on September 11.
Providing details about the incident, District Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar said that a case had been registered at the Kollur Police Station under Sections 123, 109 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The two were accused of attempting to poison and kill Vittal Naik’s wife by allegedly administering unidentified injections, police said.
Police sources also stated that Bhavya was allegedly in a relationship with Vittal Naik.
A Scene of Crime Officers (SOCO) team is examining the spot where the bodies were found, and necessary legal procedures are underway.
Police suspect that the two may have died by suicide several days ago. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of death and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
