Case Filed against 7 for Crossing Talapady Border by Boat, Sent for Medical Check-up to Wenlock

Mangaluru: On April 9, Yakoob (48) along with his family from Kerala crossed over illegally from the Kerala border. It is made out that he had used the sea/water route to cross over to Talapady. It is alleged that one person by name Shakir had aided his transit and provided all logistical support for him to land at Talapady and cross over to Addur.

Yakoob has violated all norms issued by the central and state governments to curtail the spread of the pandemic. He has blatantly put himself, his family members and the general public at risk, which attracts penal provisions under various sections of the law.

In this connection, a case has been registered at the Bajpe police station under Cr no:53/2020 against Yakoob and six others. The investigation is under progress.

Given the seriousness of the situation, all the accused in this case have been sent for a medical check-up to Wenlock hospital in coordination with the district health officials.

Their quarantine status will be monitored in liaison with the district health officers.
