Catholic Sabha Udupi Deanery holds Melwyn Peris Nite, donates Rs 6.20 lakh financial aid to Needy
Udupi: A huge crowd witnessed the highly entertaining Melwyn Peris night organised by yhe Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh, Udupi Deanery at St. Cecily School Ground on Sunday, January 5.
Yodelling King Melwyn Peris presented his Musical Nite’ with his super hit melodious songs accompanied by mind-blowing music and dance performances.
The Catholic Sabha Udupi deanery was the organizer of the Nite, which was dedicated to the noble cause of providing financial assistance to families in the Udupi Deanery that are in need of financial help to meet the expenses of treating those suffering from terminal illness, to those struggling to own a house, to continue higher education and to those who want to start their own small scale business.
The income from the nite Rs 6.20 lakh was handed over 20 beneficiaries from Hindu, Muslim and Christian community on the stage during the programme.
Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi Diocese handed over the financial aid to the beneficiaries and congratulated the Catholic Sabha Udupi deanary for coming forward to wipe the tears of the deprived and needy.
The musical evening mesmerized the Konkani music lovers. The success of the nite was evident as the audience appreciated the wonderful arrangement and entertainment with musical, dance and comedy. The entire programme was very well organized with continuous non-stop entertainment.
Accompanying Yodelling King Melwyn Peris, popular singers from Mangaluru, Rony Crasta, Robin Sequeira, Roshan Angelore, Kenny Pereira, Shilpa Cutinha, Zeena Pereira, Nihal Tauro, Oswald Sequeira, Rajesh and Jerome Coelho enthralled the gathering with melodious songs. Jerry Rasquinha compered the musical evening.
Udupi deanery entrepreneurs telephone directory was released on the occasion.
Fr Valerian Mendonca-Dean of Udupi Deanery, Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves-Spiritual Director of Catholic Sabha, Udupi Deanery, Alwyn Quadros-President of Catholic Sabha, Udupi Diocese, Sr. Vibha-Superior of St. Cecily Convent, Alphonse D’Costa, advisor, Unit presdients Brian Corea, Sanjay Andrade, Lawrence D’Sa, Raphael D’Souza, Valerian Mathais, Anil D’Souza and Brijit D’Silva were present.
