Chinmaya Mission, Mangaluru to Host Amrit Mahotsava Commemorating 75 Years of Spiritual Movement
Mangaluru: Chinmaya Mission, Mangaluru, is preparing to host its Amrit Mahotsava, a significant program commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Chinmaya movement. The event will be held from March 8th to March 10th, 2026, at Sharada Sannidhi Ashram in Hoige Bazar, Mangaluru, with a main public function scheduled for March 9th at the Canara Girls High School, Sudhindra Auditorium, Dongerkery.
The Chinmaya Mission, founded in 1951 by Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, a revered spiritual leader, has dedicated itself to awakening the world to the principles of Vedanta. The Amrit Mahotsava serves as a collective expression of gratitude for Swami Chinmayananda’s enduring legacy and a reaffirmation of the joy and purpose inspired by his teachings.

The celebrations will commence with the arrival of the Chinmaya Amrit Vahini at Sharada Sannidhi Ashram on March 8th, 2026. On March 9th, a morning of Bhajans and Paduka Puja will be held at the Ashram from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm. The highlight of the Mahotsava will be the public function in the evening, taking place from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Canara Girls’ High School, Sudhindra Auditorium. Capt. Ganesh Karnik will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest, with the program unfolding in the esteemed presence of Acharya Pujya Swami Gahanananda and Pujya Swami Anukoolananda.

Swami Chinmayananda’s contribution to society lies in his ability to make complex scriptures accessible to the common person. His teachings, delivered through eloquent oration and insightful writings, have touched countless lives. He established Chinmaya Mission, which has grown into a global network of 300 centers.

The 300 centers worldwide cater to all age groups through various initiatives such as Bala Vihar, Chinmaya Yuva Kendra, Devi groups, and study groups.
