DC Directs Officials to Ensure the Timely Completion of Pending Smart City Works

Mangaluru: Acknowledging that five years have passed since the initiation of Smart City works, the DC directed officials to ensure the timely completion of pending tasks. Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan MP reviewed the Mangaluru Smart City works. On Kadri Park, the DC said that the auction process for shops is currently underway. Having a separate food court unit was also discussed.

The DC suggested combined maintenance of Deer Park and Park Road. Officials have confirmed that a schedule has already been prepared for the Skill Development and Training Centre at the College of Fisheries, which is scheduled to commence in February. On the waterfront road development, the DC stressed on the need to resolve land issues through legal means and urged the port department to expedite the handover of land.

Referring to the Emmekere swimming pool, he proposed allowing the Swimming Federation and academies to organise programmes, including national events, to maximise utilization and generate income. He recommended collaborating with academies for training. Regarding the construction of the national flagpole in the city, he advised finalising a suitable location, preparing a comprehensive plan, and proceeding with the project.

MCC Mayor Sudheer Shetty Kannur, MCC commissioner Anand CL, MSCL General Manager (Technical) Er Arun Prabha KS and corporator Premananda Shetty were present.
