Defamatory Comments against Devegowda, Youth JD(S) President Akshith files complaint

Mangaluru: The Youth JD(S) submitted a memorandum to the Commissioner of Police Chandra Sekhar demanding action against those who have insulted former prime minister of India H D Devegowda on Facebook, at his chamber here on March 27.

Speaking to mangalorean.com district president of JD(S) Akshith Suvarna said, “Former Prime minister H D Devegowda has served the country for many years. It is highly distressing to know that some people do not respect such a personality. H D Devegowda is an empathetic leader and he is a role model for us. As district Youth president of JD(S), I condemn anyone defaming Devegowda with cheap comments. Posting defamatory comments on social media is a crime, the concerned authorities should take this issue seriously and punish the culprits.”

Akshith further said, “We have already met the Commissioner of Police Chandra Sekhar and submitted a memorandum demanding action against those who have indulged in defaming H D Devegowda. The Police commissioner has assured to look into to the matter and take necessary action against the culprits.”

Later a complaint was filed in the Bunder police station by president Akshith Suvarna. JD(S) Youth leaders Srinath Rai, Tejas Shetty, Madhusudan Gowda, Faisal, Desmond, Sinan, Tejas Naik among others were present.
