Dharmadhikari Veerendra Heggade inaugurates Sarvah Kshema Hospital & Research Foundation

Udupi: In order to spread the benefit of yoga practices and to safe guard people from the life style diseases, Divine Park Trust Saligrama has come up with a unique yoga hospital project ‘Sarvah Kshema Hospital and Research Foundation’ which was inaugurated at Yoga Bana in Moodugilyar near Kota on 1 February 2020.

Dr D Veerendra Heggade Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala inaugurated the Sarvah Kshema Hospital & Research Foundation by unveiling the plaque.On the occasion the tallest-ever 35 ft statue of Swami Vivekananda was also inaugurated by Dr H. R. Nagendra-the Vice Chancellor of Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana, Bengaluru.

In his inaugural address, Dr D Veerendra Heggade said, “Health is the form of wealth that multiplies when it is given. Yoga, one of the most ideal means of sustaining health is a gift given to the world by India. It is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts that yoga has got international recognition and June 21 is celebrated as International Yoga Day. Today in this fast paced competitive world the pursuit for worldly desires and momentary happiness has led to a host of lifestyle related diseases like diabetes, heart disease, stroke and cancer. People are taking recourse to naturopathy and yoga in big way for health promotion or wellness, prevention and cure. Naturopathy teaches us to live in tune with nature adopting minimalistic living which is in line with the yogic wisdom of shunning materialistic pursuits and happiness”.

Further Veerendra Heggade said, “Swami Vivekananda is a great inspiration for the youth of the nation. There is a need to draw the hidden talents of youth and channelize them for the cause of the development of the nation.Vivekananda had stressed on the role of youth in the making of India of his dreams. He was a great philosopher. His noble life and message is a leading light to our lives. Youth must utilize the opportunities coming on their way to lead a good life”.

In his introductory remark Dr Vivek Udupa MD of SHRF said, “The hospital has been built as per the standards prescribed by the Indian Green Building Council. Spread on a sprawling 12 acre campus, doctors here will prefer to treat the patients without prescribing any medicines. In a week-long residential course, patients will be uplifted spirituality through yoga practices and a wide variety of options can be availed for accommodation during the week-long rehabilitation course. The entire project has been readied at a cost of Rs 20 crore. There are 70 beds in this new hospital and patients can make prior bookings for admission to rehabilitation course through the website”.

He further said, “The tallest-ever statue of Swami Vivekananda has been built in campus The statue, which is taller than one at Kanyakumari, is 35-foot tall and has been inaugurated today. The statue represents Vivekananda’s concept of ‘potential divinity of the soul’ and gives a new and ennobling concept of theology. A glance of the statue offers purity, patience, and perseverance to the onlookers. It is in the midst of greenery and fertile agricultural land. Along with the posture of serenity, the statue is backed by peace, silence, and signs of care, safety and security,”

“It is the tallest in the world. “The statue at Ranchi is of 32-foot tall. The statue at Giliyaru will promote tourism in the area. It is sculpted by a team led by Sridhar Murthy, who has experience in designing beautiful and huge statues. As many as 40 workers were employed with the task. A metal mixture has been used to paint the statue, to protect it from heavy rain and wind,” added Udupa.

Divine Park head Dr Chandrashekar Udupa presided over the programme. Minister Kota Srinivasa Poojary, former minister Pramod Madhwaraj, Kota GP president Vanitha Sridhar Acharya, Prof P S Yadapadithaya vice-chancellor of Mangalore University, Dr Y Rudrappa of Arogyadhama Naturopathy and Yoga Clinic Bengaluru; Dr G Arun Mayya – Dean, College of Health Professionals Manipal; Dr Prashanth Shetty Principal SDM Yoga and Nature cure Hospital, Dr Naveen KV, Dr Raghavenra Rao, and Dr Manjunath NK and others were present.
