Director of Fr Muller Fr Patrick Rodrigues Passes Away
Mangaluru: The director of Medical Institutions Fr Patrick Rodrigues Passed away on March 23.
Fr Patrick was suffering from cancer. He breathed his last at 7:45 pm on March 23 at Fr Muller Hospital.
A native of Bambil parish, Fr Patrick was born on August 17, 1951, to Raymond and Piad Rodrigues.
He was ordained priest on May 4, 1978, after which he served in various posts. He was assistant parish priest at Barkur of Udupi Diocese (1978 – 1981), Kinnigoli (1981 – 1984). He then served as the parish priest of Samaje parish from 1984 – 1985.
Thereafter he was appointed as Assistant Director, Father Muller Charitable Institution (1985 – 1991), later he served as Administrator of St John Medical College, Hospital (1991 – 2000), then took Charge as Assistant Director, St John’s Academy, Bengaluru (2000 – 2003). He then served as parish priest of Kinnigoli (2003 – 2007).
He took charge as the Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions in (2007).
As director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, he was instrumental in initiating several programmes and development works of the Institution, the latest being the state-of-the-art Father Muller Convention Centre which opened recently.
Funeral will be in Modankap-Bantwal Church on Sunday, 26th March 2017 at 3:30 pm.
