Kundapur: In a decisive move aimed at curbing the persistent issue of overspeeding tippers and enhancing road safety, the district administration of Kundapur has announced its decision to mandate the installation of speed governors on all vehicles involved in mining-related transportation. The collective memory of a severe accident on Monday at Shetrakette, where 14 passengers of a Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus sustained injuries after a collision with a tipper, remains fresh. Compounding the tragedy, another fatal accident occurred on Wednesday at Hanguru, located on the outskirts of Kundapur. In this incident, a tipper struck a scooter, resulting in the immediate death of the rider.
