Doha: Italian Embassy launches new visa application centre

Doha: The Embassy of Italy in Qatar has appointed Cox & Kings Global Services (CKGS), as the new service provider for processing visa applications for all residents of Qatar wishing to go to Schengen area with Italy as the main destination. The new Italy Visa Application Centre will process all tourist & business visas. Applications will be received from all the residents of Qatar. The Visa Application Center will also process applications for travel to Sweden, Malta and Estonia, which are represented in Qatar by the Embassy of Italy with reference to Schengen visa applications.

Commenting on this association, H.E. Guido De Sanctis, Ambassador of Italy to Qatar, said “We’re glad to announce the opening of the new Visa Application Centre in Doha, with the aim to provide a quicker and better service to all those who are residents in Qatar and ask for a Schengen visa from our Embassy. It is a formula adopted with success by Italy and many other Governments around the world, and finally we are happy to announce that we are ready to start in Qatar with this new system.”

According to Karan Anand, head, relationships, Cox & Kings, “We are happy to partner with Embassy of Italy in Qatar to enable those living here the convenience of submitting and collecting their Italian visa at this centre. We are certain that, this tie-up will provide great assistance and convenience to travellers who want to visit Italy”.

Applicants will be able to book the appointment via website (www.it.ckgs.qa), web chat as well as email (italyvisa.qatar@ckgs.com). Additionally, CKGS will accept walk-in customers without an appointment although the waiting time for those applicants might get extended.

CKGS will provide appointments for visa submission within three working days from the received request. The ordinary processing time for a completed visa application with all the required documents ranges from 3 to 15 days. It varies according to the nationality of the applicant. Applicants are advised to apply on time, ideally 45 days before their scheduled departure date.  To add to the services, CKGS will also offer travel insurance, SMS updates, courier, photographs, photocopy and premium lounge as part of their enhanced services for the applicants.

Applicants will be able to pay for the visa and service fees by cash, debit or credit card at the Visa Application Centre or online. Moreover, applicants will be able to view the status of their applications online.

The Italy Visa Application Centre is located at AMG Building, Madinat khalifa (south), Doha, Qatar.
