Ear-stud retrieved from the Niranjan Bhat’s Stomach
Udupi: The Doctors of KMC hospital Manipal on August 11 retrieved the ear-stud from the stomach of Niranjan Bhat, the accused in Bhaskar Shetty murder case.
According to the Investigation officer Dr Sumana, doctor’s in the hospital removed the ear-stud from Bhat’s stomach through Colonoscopy therapy on Thursday evening. He will be produced before the court on August 12. There are no any major developments in the case. Police were working on collecting evidence she said.
Niranjan Bhat was arrested on August 8, by the Manipal police and on August 9 while he was in the custody of the Manipal police, he attempted to commit suicide by swallowing a diamond ring and ear-studs. He was rushed to Ajjarakadu government hospital for treatment. There he was treated to flush out the items he had swallowed.
On August 10, the diamond ring and one ear-stud were retrieved. But another ear stud was found to have stuck in his system. Police asked for the consent of the court before taking him for treatment. As soon as the permission was granted Niranjan was shifted to KMC hospital Manipal.
