EC postpones polling in RR Nagar seat to May 28

Bengaluru: The Election Commission on Friday postponed to elections to the Rajrajeshwari Nagar assembly seat in Karnataka saying there is “definite inference” to suggest that efforts were made to induce voters.

Though other constituencies in the state will go to polls on Saturday, the polling in RR Nagar will be held on May 28. The counting of votes for RR Nagar constituency will take place on May 31.

As many as 9,896 voters whose IDs were found in the flat have been cleared to vote. In the absence of EPIC cards, they can carry other documents like Aadhaar, PAN, post office passbook, nationalised bank passbook, passport and voters ID slip.
