Explosives Seized in Raid on Stone Quarry at Billadi
Udupi: A team led by DySP Udupi Jai Shanker raided a stone quarry on March 22 and seized explosives that were stored in the quarry at Billadi under the Kota Police Station limits.
On March 22 Jai Shanker DySP Udupi along with his team, Pradeep Nayak, Dyamana Gowda Patil and Brahmavar CPI Poovayya during their rounds in Saibarkatte received information from reliable sources about the storage of illegal explosives at a quarry belonging to Divakar Shetty at Nailadi near Billadi Grama Panchayat, The police along with PSI Kota Rafiq raided the quarry and seized Iron rods, Compression jack, Tractor, Pipes, Tata Hitachi, Tipper with laterite stone load, 125 explosive Detonators, gelatin sticks and other items which were illegally stored at the Quarry.
Three persons escaped from the spot during the raid.
A case has been registered in thew Kota Police Station and investigation is on.
