Fire Erupts at Firecracker Shop in Kundapur, Resulting in Significant Financial Losses
Kundapur: A fire engulfed a firecracker shop in the vicinity of the Venkataramana Temple in Kundapur taluk, Udupi district, during the early hours of Sunday, causing extensive damage and estimated financial losses amounting to lakhs of rupees.

The incident transpired at approximately 3:00 a.m. at the firecracker and book shop owned by Jagadish Bhat. The ensuing blaze rapidly spread, causing significant damage not only to the primary establishment but also to adjacent shops owned by Divakar Bhat and Keshav Bhat.
Residents and Kundapur Fire and Emergency Services quickly responded. They worked together to control the fire. Their actions prevented the fire from spreading and causing more damage. No casualties were reported.

Initial assessments suggest that a short circuit may have been the primary cause of the fire. Authorities have registered a case at the Kundapur Police Station, and a thorough investigation is currently underway to ascertain the precise circumstances that led to the incident.
The fire resulted in the destruction of firecrackers and stationery items, which were the primary inventory of the shop. The estimated financial losses incurred are substantial, reaching several lakhs of rupees.
