Fishing Ban from June 1 to July end

Mangaluru/ Udupi: According to the Karnataka Coastal Fishing (Regulation) Act 1986, the Government of Karnataka has imposed a ban for two months from June 1 to July 31 on fishing activities.

The state government has issued an order to ban all fishing activities through mechanized boats. The traditional boats which have below 10 horsepower capacity can carry out fishing.

If any fisherman is found violating the law they will be punished under the 1986 act. Violators will also not be able to get a subsidy for diesel for a year.

For the safety and security of the fishermen, the government requested all the fishermen to follow the order strictly.
