Five Arrested in Vehicle theft Case, 7 Bikes Worth Rs 5 Lakh Seized

Mangaluru: In a swift operation, five persons have been arrested by the Bajpe police in connection with the vehicle theft case in Bajpe here on August 6.

The arrested have been identified as Vijay alias Vijay Bovi alias Anjaneya alias Anju (23) from Surathkal, Pradeep Poojary alias Pradi alias Chethan (27) from Ulayibettu, Abhijit (26) from Mulky, Rakshith Kulal (22) from Katipalla and Sudesh Nair alias Munna (20) from Bantwal.

Due to the increase in two-wheeler theft cases and on the direction of the Higher officials, the Bajpe Police Inspector, along with his team were checking vehicles in the police station limits. During the checking of vehicles, the police stopped four youth on two motorbikes, while checking for the documents of the vehicle, they were unable to provide them. The youth were then taken to the police station, and while checking the details of the vehicles found that the Bajaj motorbike was stolen from the place it was parked near the MCC Bank, Bajpe. The Pulsar N S 160 motorbike was stolen from Eshwarkatte, another Pulsar 150 bike and a Yamaha FZ bike were stolen from Yedapadav. One more Pulsar 150 motorbike was stolen from the Kavoor police station limits, another Pulsar 150 motorbike was stolen from Panjimogeru, and an Activa Scooter was stolen from Jokatte, under the Panambur police station limits.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that they were planning to loot a gold shop near Anjaneya temple in Moodbidri city.

The accused Vijay is involved in vehicle theft and Ganja peddling cases and cases have been registered against him in Belthangady (3 Bike theft cases), Moodbidri (1 Bike theft), Panambur (1 Bike theft), and Kavoor police station (1 Bike theft and one Ganja peddling case).

The second accused Pradeep is also involved in the underworld don Madoor Yusuf murder case and in Barke Police station, a case has been registered, dacoity case in Mulky police station, Murder attempt of Tikki Mohan in Mangaluru North Police station, three bike theft cases in Belthangady police station, and one bike theft case in Moodbidri police station.

Third accused Abhijith is involved in an assault case, and cases have been registered against him in Kaup police station, Mysuru (murder attempt), and two bike theft cases in Bajpe police station.

The fourth accused Rakshith is involved in bike theft, and cases have been registered against him in Surathkal, Bajpe, and Kavoor police stations.

The fifth accused Sudeesh is also involved in bike theft cases, and Belthangady, Ullal, Bajpe, and Panambur police have registered theft cases against him.

Under the Guidance of Police commissioner Vikas Kumar IPS, and the direction of DCP Law and Order Arunagshugiri, and DCP Crime and Traffic Lakshmi Ganesh and the leadership of ACP Mangaluru North Sub-division Belliyappa and Police Inspector K R Naik, the operation was carried out by the Bajpe PSI Kamala, PSI Sathish M P, PSI Raghavendra Naik, ASI Rama Poojary, Ramachandra, Honnappa Gowda, Sudhir Shetty, Rajesh, Santhosh D K, Rohit Kumar, Vakil N Lamani, Rasheed Shiekh, Kumar Swamy, and Sanjeev.
