FKCA to Hold Konkan Karavali Utsav in Aid of Kodagu Flood Relief and Annual Awards

Bengaluru: Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations® (FKCA) is organizing Food Fest “Konkan Karavali Utsav” on February 10, at St Joseph’s Indian High School Grounds, Vittal Mallya Road, Bangalore from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Food Fest is organized in aid of Kodagu Flood Relief to build houses and rehabilitation of the flood-affected victims. The said venue will have various food stalls with coastal flavours both in veg and nonveg, games stalls and cultural performances. There will also be a DJ war from 10.30 am to 3.00 pm and the best performer will win a cash prize of Rs.10,000/-.

FKCA also celebrates it’s 22nd Annual Day at the same venue which will commence at 4:00 pm with a Mass in Konkani celebrated by Dr Robert Michael Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga.

FKCA confers awards to three eminent personalities annually for their work towards the development of the society and for their exemplary services in the following fields. This year’s awardees are:

Life-Time Achievement Award – Margaret Francis Furtado, Renowned social worker.
Professional Excellence Award – Charles Lobo, IPoS, Chief Post Master General, Karnataka Division.
Entrepreneur of the Year Award – George S Fernandes, Founder and Managing Director, St Milagres Credit Souharda Co-operative Ltd. Karwar.

Dr G Parameshwara, Deputy Chief Minister, Government of Karnataka will be the Chief Guest.

Minister of Large Scale industries K J George, Ivan D’Souza, MLC, Parliamentary Secretary, N A Harris, MLA, Shanthinagar, J R Lobo, Ex MLA, Mangalore South, will be the Guest of Honours for the event.

Dr Robert Michael Miranda will preside over the event. Dr Peter Machado –Arch Bishop of Bangalore and Dr Henry D’Souza, Bishop of Bellary will grace the event with their presence.
