Getafe’s new keeper Soria says he aims to be starter in La Liga

Madrid: Getafe’s newly-signed goalkeeper David Soria said that he now aims to develop himself to be a starter with his new football club.

The 25-year-old Spanish goalkeeper moved from Sevilla to Getafe for the next four seasons, reports Efe.

“Every player dreams about representing the Spanish national team and everyone wants to play with that shirt, but now my goal is to play in Getafe, to be a starter,” Soria told Efe.

“On a personal level, I hope to grow a lot, have more time to work out by playing only one game per week and play for as maximum minutes as possible,” he added.

The goalkeeper started his career at Real Madrid’s under-19 team and then moved to Seville in January 2013 to play at Sevilla C.

In the 2015/2016 season, the goalie made his debut with the first team in Sevilla and played at a high level in the team’s Europa League title-winning run.

In the past two seasons, Soria fought for a starting position at Sevilla but was injured at the start of both.

However, Soria, who appeared in 36 official matches with Sevilla, recovered from the injury by the end of the 2017/2018 season.
