Goan Super-Singer Remo Unleashes His Catchy & Witty Election Song- “Vote for this and vote for that. This is the time to give tit for tat. Corrupt politicians have become too fat. Kick them out, don’t allow them to bat’…

Mangaluru: Popular for his very famous “Maria Pitache” song which is a hit at parties and Catholic weddings, Goan Musician, Composer, Super-singer, Remo Fernandes, this time is out with his election song, which is quite catchy, witty with a punch. In 1992, pop singer Remo Fernandes recorded an album with a title suggesting exactly what was wrong with India. It was called “Politicians Don’t Know to Rock and Roll”.

Credited with introducing the world of pop and rock music to India at large, Remo Fernandes’s musical style is a reflection of the various styles of music and cultures he has been exposed to as a child in Goa and during his travels round the world. Born in Panjim, Goa in 1953, Remo was introduced to the world of rock music by a cousin who, while returning from London brought along a record called ‘Rock Around The Clock’ by Bill Haley & His Comets.

Later in the preceding years, the musician announced his support for the Aam Aadmi Party and began to appear in public wearing the party’s signature Gandhi topi. On April 7, 2014 he released a Konkani video on YouTube urging his fellow Goans to back AAP too. It was called “Zhadoo Mariya”, or “Use the Broom”. And as the 2019 Lok Sabha elections are ahead, Remo has unleashed his new song, with the lyrics- “Vote for this and vote for that. This is the time to give tit for tat. Corrupt politicians have become too fat. Kick them out, don’t allow them to bat’…
