Group Thrashes Man on Suspicion of Child-lifting, 6 arrested
Mangaluru: Six persons have been arrested by the Bajpe police for assaulting a man at Gurukambla here on August 20.
The arrested have been identified as Rizwan (35), Muhammed Imtiyaz (42), Ajmal Khan (43), Muhammed Imran(42), Muhammed Irfan (38) and Shah Nawaz Dharmasthala (19) all from Gurukambala.
On August 19, Hamza from Valencia had gone to Gurukambala on his two-wheeler to meet his friend Thousif. While he was parking his two-wheeler at Gurukambala some children who were playing around came near Hamza. When Hamza saw the children approaching him, he distributed the chocolates he was carrying with him.
When the locals saw Hamza giving chocolates to the children, they tied him up and assaulted him thinking that he was a child lifter. While the group was assaulting Hamza, his friend Thousif fled from the spot. Bajpe Police who were informed of the incident reached the spot and rushed Hamza to the Government hospital where he was treated as an outpatient and sent home. In this connection, a case was filed in the Bajpe police station.
On August 20, Hamza developed body pain and was admitted to a private hospital. In this connection 6 of the accused have been arrested by the police.
