Loan Waive Amount to be deposited in 15 days to Farmers account – Agri Minister Shivashanker Reddy
Udupi: “The State Agriculture Minister N H Shivashanker Reddy said that the state government has already sent notifications to all the co-operative societies for waiving the farmers loan. Within 15 days the amount will be deposited to the account of farmers”.
He was speaking after participating in a programme at Santhoshnagar Hemmady in Kundapur Taluk on Monday, August 20. “In the first phase, Rs 9500 crore farm loan which was availed in co-operative societies will be waived off and the next step will be to waive off the loan from private Banks,” he said.
“The government is drawing up ambitious programmes to give a boost to organic farming and bring down the expenditure for farming by encouraging Zero Budget Natural Farming. There are many vacant posts in the state agriculture department, due to the shortage of staff farmers are unable to get proper information. The government has decided to appoint 600 students from the Agriculture University for Agricultural centers in the state. The appointment notification will be issued soon”.
“The government has already started to issue Identity cards to the Framers and within 6 months the process will be completed. In Udupi district, the farmers are facing problems from wild animals and there is a problem to obtain a Gun license. We will discuss the matter with the Deputy Commissioner,” he said.
