Hit-and-Run Near Valachil Claims Life of Young Motorcyclist
Mangaluru: A young motorcyclist lost his life after a car allegedly struck his bike and fled the scene near Valachil on the outskirts of Mangaluru on Wednesday night.
According to reports, the accident took place around 10 p.m. in front of a newly opened petrol pump near Valachil. The force of the impact reportedly threw the rider several metres onto the road, leaving him critically injured. He succumbed to his injuries at the spot.
Local residents identified the deceased as Harris, a resident of Suralpady.
The Kankanady Traffic Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter. Officials are examining the circumstances leading to the collision, including allegations of rash and negligent driving and the driver’s failure to stop and render assistance after the accident.
