“The woman in her early forties, Suja Singh belongs from the south Indian state of Kerala, jumped off from the hospital’s building on Sunday afternoon,” the hospital sources said.

She is survived by her two children who study abroad. No immediate reasons of suicide were ascertained.

An official spokesperson of the hospital confirmed the incident saying, “The woman has been working with the hospital since January, was a nice woman. She was working as a head of nurses at the hospital.

“The entire hospital is in shock because of this unfortunate incident and we are fully supporting the family of the victim in this difficult time. Singh had no issues with the hospital or any of its members. She was working fine,” the official said.

She was a divorced from a north Indian man. The hospital approached their children abroad but the hospital was surprised to know that the children were not ready to see their mother and receive the body.

The family doesn’t want to take the body back home India, so the hospital is planning to arrange her burial in the Emirate, the spokesperson said.

“Sing was one of the best in our staff and we were blessed to have her work for our hospital but truly it’s very unfortunate incident happened and the hospital stands in such sad time with the family,” the hospital sources said.

The hospital has been making all the funeral arrangement on behalf of the family, and exercised a moment of silence in her respect at the Al Ain hospital. A comment from Abu Dhabi Police was not available until press time on Monday.
