INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY 2026 celebrated at Father Muller
Mangalore: International Nurses Day 2026 was celebrated with great zeal at Father Muller Medical College Hospital on May 12, 2026. The celebration was based on the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future- Empowered Nurses Save Lives,” emphasizing the importance of empowered and dedicated nurses in strengthening healthcare services.



The program commenced with a prayer song followed by the escorting of dignitaries to the dais. The event was graced by Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo, Director, Father Muller Charitable Institutions; Rev. Sr Aileen Mathias, Chief Guest of the day; Rev. Fr George Jeevan Sequeira, Administrator, FMMCH; Rev. Dr Michael Santhumayor, Administrator, FMMC; Dr. Udaykumar, Medical Superintendent; Rev. Sr Dr Dhanya Devasia, Principal, Father Muller School and College of Nursing and Rev. Sr Nancy Priya Mathias, Chief Nursing Officer.

A welcome address was delivered by Sr Dr Dhanya Devasia, followed by the garlanding of the portraits of Rev. Fr Augustus Muller and Florence Nightingale and lighting the lamp. A special highlight of the celebration was the felicitation of veteran nurse Mrs. Victoria Dalmeida for her dedicated and compassionate service. She also inspired the gathering by sharing her experiences in the nursing profession. The FMCON Magazine Muller Spring was released by the Chief Guest.

The Chief Guest, Sr Aileen Mathias, appreciated the commitment and tireless efforts of nurses in healthcare service. A memento was presented to her as a token of gratitude. Rev. Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo delivered the Presidential Address, motivating nurses to continue their service with compassion and dedication.
The celebration also included the distribution of awards to the Best Nurse, CNE topper, and winners of various competitions. Nurses who completed 20 years of service at Father Muller Institutions were specially honoured for their valuable contributions.


The formal program concluded with the vote of thanks and Institutional Anthem, followed by a cultural program featuring a video role-play. The event ended with a group photograph session and fellowship lunch, making the celebration memorable for all.
