Kadri Park Area to Be developed at a Cost of Rs 12 Crore – U T Khader

Mangaluru: “Under the smart city project we are planning the integrated Development of Kadri Park Area at a cost of Rs 12 Crore. Kadri Park is the largest park within the city limits of Mangaluru. It is proposed to develop the area in an integrated manner. Improvements of roads along with the development of public places etc are proposed in the project. Concept development for the projects is in progress”, said the minister for Housing and Urban development and also the District Minister In-charge U T Khader in a press meet held at the Circuit House here on October 3.

Addressing the mediapersons U T Khader said, “The Mangala Stadium is a public sports and athletics stadium located in the heart of Mangaluru city. It is proposed to upgrade the existing facilities to international standards. It is also proposed to construct an Indoor stadium for Shuttle Badminton and Kabbadi near Urwa Market and the concept development for the projects is in progress”.

U T Khader further said, “Morgans gate is one of the Major entry to Mangauru City (ABD Area) from NH 66. Presently the area is congested due to heavy traffic flow and the railway crossing. It is proposed to construct a connecting Road from NH66 near Jeppu to Morgans gate including the construction of RUB at a cost of Rs 30 Crore. The concept development for the project is in progress”.

Khader also said, “We will construct an Abattoir (Slaughter House) at Kandetapalli at a cost of Rs 15 crore. There is a proposal to set up a modern mechanized slaughterhouse with the conveyors and cold storage facilities and to develop the sewerage treatment plant to maintain hygienic conditions”.

“Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will be coming to Mangaluru on October 14 to take part in the Dasara Celebrations at Kudroli”, said U T Khader.
