St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrates Gandhi Jayanthi

Mangaluru: St Aloysius Gonzaga School paid homage to the great leader and visionary, Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd October 2018, at St Aloysius Gonzaga School Hall. The Gonzagaites participated in the Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations with great enthusiasm. The programme commenced with a prayer song. The significance of the day was given by Ethan Pinto of Class V followed by a Bhajan “Raghupathi Raghava Rajaram” dedicated to Gandhiji by the School Choir. The reflection on the life of Gandhiji and his values on peace were given by Mr.Prashanth D Souza, class teacher of Class V B.

Principal Mrs. Grace Noronha delivered the motivational and encouraging speech and highlighting the sacrifice Gandhiji made towards the country. Mrs. Sandhya Manoj, class teacher of class VII conducted a quiz based on the video presentation of Mahatma Gandhi’s life. The unit of Scouts and Guides of our School actively participated in Shramadan and cleaned the School premises and surrounding areas. Winners of various competitions held in connection with Gandhi Jayanthi were awarded with certificates.

The programme was compeered by Shinead Fernandes of Class VB and Kimberly Chanel Rodrigues of class IX. The celebration ended with a thought in each Gonzagaite’s mind about the unforgettable contributions of Father of our Nation and struggle for freedom. They also carried a message of values advocated by Gandhiji, truth, non-violence and peace. The programme concluded by singing the National anthem
