Karkala:  We will Oppose Tiger Reserve project in Hebri – Vinay Kumar Sorake

Karkala: People need not fear on the implementation of Tiger Reserve Project in Hebri region said Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Urban Development and Minister in-charge district.

He was speaking after inaugurating various projects in Hebri region here on April 25.

The central government has approved the Tiger Reserve project in Hebri which will be opposed and hence the villagers need not fear.

Deliberate attempts are made to mislead people on implementation of Kasturirangan report. Consultations with the villagers are recorded in the report submitted to the government.

The multi-village drinking water project and construction of Junior College building will be completed soon in addition, 100 houses will be constructed in Chara, he added.

64 gram panchayats will be upgraded to town municipality which will be announced before the gram Panchayat elections. 95 promises out of 165 are fulfilled by the Congress led state government and the other will be fulfilled soon. The government has extended loan to farmers and self help groups and also started pension adalat, revenue adalat and others for the welfare of the people.

Suma N Adyanthaya, Hebri Gram Panchayat president presided over the programme.

Karkala TP President Vijay Kumari, ZP member Manjunath Poojary, TP President Mamatha Nayak, Former MLA Gopal Bhandary, Hebri Gram Panchayat VP Baby, Karkala Tahasildar Raghavendra, Prasanna Ballal, Executive Officer Chenappa, ZP Engineer Sathyendra Salian and others were present.
