Karnataka Powerlifting Association Hosts Triumphant State Championship in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: The Karnataka Powerlifting Association (R) successfully concluded its Karnataka State Senior, Junior & Sub Junior Powerlifting Championship-2025, held from May 30th to June 1st, 2025, at the KPTC Employees Sabha Bhavan in Mangaluru. The three-day event was a resounding success, showcasing the remarkable strength, unwavering dedication, and exceptional sportsmanship of powerlifters hailing from across the state. Competitors engaged in intense battles across a diverse range of weight categories, each striving to achieve personal best and secure coveted victories for their respective gyms and institutes.

The championship featured athletes in the Senior, Junior, and Sub Junior divisions, all demonstrating impressive strength in the squat, bench press, and deadlift disciplines. The event was marked by impressive displays of strength in the squat, bench press, and deadlift disciplines.

Sub-Junior Women’s Category Highlights:

In the Sub Junior category, Raksha Poojari of Iron Den distinguished herself by securing the top position in the 43 kg class with a total lift of 137.5 kg. Following closely behind was Sadika P Attar from Eternal Gym, Hubli, with a total of 120 kg. Shruthi of Iron Kingdom delivered a dominant performance in the 47 kg class, achieving a total of 147.5 kg, while Susan Melanie D’Souza from Iron Den, Mangalore, secured a commendable second-place finish. Sauni S from Shimoga District emerged victorious in the 52 kg class, lifting a total of 225 kg. Rania Neha Ferrao of Carlos Gym showcased her strength in the 57 kg class, achieving a total of 257.5 kg. Ashna Freya Ferrao, also representing Carlo’s Gym, won the 63 kg class with a total of 220 kg.

Junior Women’s Category Highlights:

T Lalitha Vyshnovi of APC claimed first place in the 43 kg Junior category with a total of 165 kg. Rudwin Tanuja from Iron Den secured the 47 kg title with 155 kg. Shamitha M of Carlos Gym, Mangalore, demonstrated exceptional performance in the 52 kg class, lifting a total of 262.5 kg. Thanushree V Kalyankar from R Fitness Harihar dominated the 57 kg class with an impressive 340 kg. Rajani Mallah of Iron Den stood out in the 63 kg class, achieving a remarkable total of 395 kg.

Senior Women’s Category Highlights:

Rudwin Tanuja from Iron Den also won the 47kg Senior category with 155kg. Jyothi Timmaraddi from Balarka Fitness secured first place in the 52 kg class with a total of 265 kg. Abhigna Pobbathi from Balarka Fitness showcased her strength in the 57 kg class, achieving a total of 345 kg. Rajani Mallah of Iron Den continued her winning streak, also securing first place in the 63 kg class with a total of 395 kg.

Senior Men’s Category Highlights:

In the Senior Men’s division, Adarsh B Attavar from Balanjaneya Gym, Mangalore, emerged victorious in the 59 kg class, achieving a remarkable total of 690 kg. Nagaraj representing Shimoga District, secured the top spot in the 66 kg class with a total of 617.5 kg. Punith Ragavan from Mysore District dominated the 74 kg class, achieving an impressive total of 757.5 kg. Pradeep Kumar, also from Balanjaneya Gym, showcased exceptional strength in the 83 kg class, achieving a total of 810 kg.

Junior Men’s Category Highlights:

The Junior Men’s category witnessed equally compelling performances. Keerthan from ASPA Fitness secured first place in the 53 kg class with a total of 455 kg. Fazil M, representing Shimoga District, claimed victory in the 59 kg class with a total of 550 kg. Akash Pal from Balanjaneya Gym, who also competed in the senior division, won the 66 kg class with a total of 615 kg. Shashank from Raw Fitness, Saligram emerged as the champion in the 74 kg class with a total of 620 kg. Sumanth S, also from Raw Fitness Saligrama, demonstrated superior strength in the 83 kg class, achieving a total of 775 kg.

Sub Junior Men’s Category Highlights:

The Sub Junior Men’s category showcased the talent of emerging powerlifters. Chris Allan D’Souza from ASPA Fitness, Kinnigoli, secured the first position in the 53 kg class with a total of 330 kg. Parashuram.G from R Fitness, Harihara, dominated the 59 kg class with a total of 400 kg. Arjun A, representing Shimoga District, emerged victorious in the 66 kg class with a total of 432.5 kg. Chinmay K V from Raw Fitness, Saligrama, claimed the top spot in the 74 kg class with a total of 495 kg. Rishi Raj from Balanjaneya Gym, Mangalore, secured first place in the 83 kg class with a total of 472.5 kg.

The Karnataka Powerlifting Association (R) expressed its profound satisfaction with the successful conduct of the championship and extended its heartfelt congratulations to all the participants for their unwavering dedication, exemplary sportsmanship, and remarkable achievements.
