The band started to play following the cultural programme comprising of dances, songs etc by the college students. And when the Band began to play, the crowd was treated to an unforgettable live show. And that was “Sound Fishy”and that’s how their live shows are! Their playing can be described with one word: captivating. They mesmerize with their passionate playing to hold the audience spellbound, and the audience give them a well-deserved applaud. Their performance is filled with a potency that give the music life and vibrancy, and the band members will tear into it with an intensity that will be overwhelming. Knowing a few members from their earlier band “Avalanche Brakedown” and their performance on stage, I can say is that they are a dynamic group whose personal connection lends poignancy to their music and spark to their performances.

Pulsating, heart stopping reels and jigs, their music defies an audience to remain seated–simply exhilarating! Whether mesmerizing the audience with a slow classic rock hits like “Hotel California” by Eagles/”another Brick in the Wall” by Pink Floyd or busting bow hair on foot-stomping hard-rock hits like ” Rock you like a Hurricane” by Scorpions; ”Wanted Dead or Alive” by Bon Jovi and many more like Iron Maiden, Motherjane, Steel Panther, Steelheart, Deep Purple, Toto, Whitesnake, these musicians can deliver, straight from their heart. With their superb stage performances, “Sounds Fishy”could be a much appreciated live act throughout Mangaluru and surrounding areas in coming days when they schedule their live gigs. No doubt, ‘Sound Fishy’ is one of the upcoming thrilling, innovative acts on the music rock scene, with the unique reputation of enthralling audiences in any kind of setting-from college music festivals, live concerts to pub gigs. One has to watch these guys play live- their prominent electric guitar riffs, bright synthesizers, a homogeneous sound and message, and the pitch-correcting software Auto-Tune are superb. This “peppy” band who are heavy on clipped rhythms and chugging guitars and mesmerizing keyboards are sure to entertain everyone once they are on stage live.

Hailing from diverse genres in music, “Sounds Fishy”, a Mangaluru based Hard Rock / Ambient Metal band featuring six introverts was formed in late 2016. The band kick started as a Five man band only to participate in a “Battle of Bands” competition organized by “Alive India” and be crowned the “Best Band of Mangaluru”. Four of the Five members belonged to the Band “Avalanche Brakedown” which set an incredible mark in Mangaluru in 2014 – 2015 and even winning the “Best Band of Mangalore” in 2015. Looking at this as an opportunity the band participated amidst 20 odd bands and struck their way through to the finals and bagged the “Runners Up”. Ever since then the band jammed and won several Battle of the bands across the coast and represented Mangaluru on various platforms all over the country.

The Bands Tone was developed in a home studio called “Mac Studios” (Maclean D’souza – Keyboardist) and the band was regularly gigging. The time had come to work on constructive music which could be listened and connected to all walks of life. The band had composed several songs especially for competitions and then decided to record several of them. At present “Sounds Fishy” comprises of : Ashwin Xavier Sequeira – Drums; Floid Craig Pereira – Bass Guitar / Backing Guitars; Maclean D’souza – Keyboard / Synth; Ramprasad Ashok – Riff Master / Backing Guitars; Clyde Lobo – Lead Guitar / Backing Vocals; and Renston Fernandes – Lead Vocals

The Band has plans of further releasing several singles within this year and has set plans in 2020. The band is currently focuses on bringing the Rock/Metal scenes back to life.
