Kundapur Police Apprehend Four Inter-State Theft Suspects in House Burglary Case
Kundapur: In a significant development, the Kundapur police have successfully apprehended four individuals implicated in a house burglary case that occurred within the town’s jurisdiction. The accused, identified as Lakhan Kulkarni (31), Sandeep Lavate (25), Vivek Kumbar (26), and Aziz alias Chote (28), all residents of the Solapur region in Maharashtra, were taken into custody through a body warrant obtained from the Haliyal police in Uttara Kannada district. Authorities are currently conducting further investigations into the matter.
The arrests stem from an incident that transpired on July 19, wherein the accused allegedly targeted the residence of one Rohit, situated on B.B. Road, West Block, within the Kundapur town police station limits. During the unlawful entry, the suspects are believed to have made off with gold ornaments and other valuables, collectively estimated to be worth several lakhs of rupees. Ravindra, also in Kundapur, making away with silver, gold jewelry, and other valuables with an estimated value of Rs. 4.57 lakh.
Investigations revealed the group’s involvement in a prior theft case within the Haliyal police station limits. Consequently, Kundapur police secured their custody, conducted thorough investigations, and presented them before the court. The court has since ordered their remand to judicial custody pending further legal proceedings.
