Uppinangady: A Gas tanker on the way to Bengaluru overturned near Perne here on April 2.
According to sources the gas tanker which was plying from Mangaluru to Bengaluru, at Perne near Uppinangady the driver lost control while negotiating a curve and the tanker overturned.
It is suspected that the gas tanker has started leaking gas thus creating panic among the people.
The police and the fire brigade has rushed to the spot. Vehicular movement on the Perne road has been blocked and vehicles have been diverted.
