Malpe Muslims Offer Special Prayer for Safe Return of Missing Fishermen

Udupi: Muslim brothers offered special prayers at the Malpe Sayyadina Abu Bakkar Siddik Jamia Mosque on Friday, January 4, for the safe return of the missing fishing boat, Suvarna Tribhuja, with seven fishermen onboard, that went missing off the coast of Goa on December 15.

On Friday afternoon Juma Namaz Quthba preaching Mosque Imam Moulana Imranullah Khan Mansoor prayed for the safe return of the missing fishermen.

Speaking on the occasion Imam Moulana Imranullah Khan Mansur said, “All humans are brothers and sisters and are equal in duties and rights regardless of race, religion, language and ethnic background. We all need to share happiness and pain with one another. On humanitarian grounds, it is everyone’s responsibility to respond positively to this painful situation. Let the missing fishermen join us as soon as possible. May God give the family members the strength during this difficult time”, he said.

Imam Moulana Imranullah Khan Mansur further said, “Today we have offered special prayers for our missing fishermen brothers. The fishermen community has decided to shut down all the fishing operations in three coastal districts and stage a ‘rasta roko’ on the National Highway 66 at Karavali Junction on January 6. They have decided to do this in order to put pressure on the State government to trace the missing fishing boat with the seven fishermen on board. The Muslim community has extended their support for the Rasta Roko”, he said.
