Malpe Police arrest Daughter-in-law for torturing Mother-in-law
Udupi: The Malpe police on September 18 arrested the Daughter-in-Law for trying to torture her Father-in-law and Mother-in-law.
The arrested has been identified as Ashwini Pai resident of Thenkanidiyoor near Lakshminagar.
According to the police, the elderly couple Venkatesh Pai of Indrali and Anitha Veena Pai lived in a rented house with their elder son Lakshmana Pai. Ashwini Pai wife of Lakshmana Pai was always torturing the elderly couple and recently had severely assaulted them. Seriously injured mother-in-law was admitted to the Government hospital Ajjarkad. A complaint of attempt to murder was filed against Ashiwni Pai in the Malpe Police Station.
After the incident, Ashwini Pai was absconding. On Monday, September 18 the Malpe Police arrested and produced her before the court. The court sentenced the accused to judicial custody until September 28.
