Man Dies After Pick-up Overturns
Udupi: A 33-year-old man was killed after a Mahindra pickup overturned on National Highway 66 at Kothalkatte in front of Bicco Company on Monday, June 6.
The deceased has been identified as Raju (33), a native of Bagalkote.
According to the police, a Mahindra pickup was carrying steel cupboards from Udupi to Mangaluru. At Kothalkatte, the driver Raju suddenly noticed a huge uprooted banyan tree on the road and suddenly slammed the brakes, losing control over the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle overturned.
Raju was thrown out of the pickup and was severely injured. He was rushed to the hospital but the doctors pronounced him brought dead.
Kaup PSI Jagadish Reddi reached the spot and a case has been registered.
