Mangaluru: The officers of Customs at Mangalore International Airport have busted another modus operandi of gold smuggling and seized 5 Ten Tola gold bars weighing 583.300 grams valued at Rs 15,25,330/- concealed under seat number 23F of Jet Airways flight No 9W531 on March 17.
The passenger has been identified as Abdul Khader Kunhamoo (58), a resident of Kasaragod, Kerala. He arrived at the Mangalore International Airport from Dubai on March 17 by Jet Airways Flight No. 9W531 from Dubai at 8:25am.
The passenger has been arrested and produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mangalore where he was remanded to judicial custody. Further investigation is under progress.
