Addressing the protesters, General Secretary of BJP Yuva Morcha Brijesh Chowta said that the mysterious death of IAS officer D K Ravi is condemnable. “Even before getting the post mortem report, Home Minister K J George and the Police Commissioner of Bengaluru M N Reddi said that the death of IAS officer D K Ravi is a case of suicide. It is a pre-plan to twist the murder case into suicide. Even in the assembly, during the discussion of the death of Ravi, the district minister in-charge Ramanath Rai was sleeping. It is a serious issue but our minister was showing least concern for it. The Home Minister is showing keen interest in the death of the IAS officer. We do not have any hope that the family of D K Ravi will get justice. We demand the union government to intervene and hand over the case to the CBI.”

District president of BJP Yuva Morcha Ranjan Gowda said that being a home minister if K J George says it is a suicide, how will the honest officer get justice? “Instead of waiting for the post mortem report, the Home Minister is hinting that it is a case of suicide and not murder. D K Ravi was a bold officer who worked honestly.” He also said that without even getting the report, it is not right to decide that it is suicide. “The people of Karnataka had trusted the Congress party and brought them to power but if honest officers will die in mysterious ways, how can the people trust the government?”  He also demanded that the case be handed over to the CBI.

Ravi Shanker Mizar said that recently D K Ravi had raided the Embassy group and other real estate companies and collected tax from them. “Home minister K J George and M N Reddi say that it is a case of suicide, which indicates their negligence in handling IAS officer Ravi’s case. To clear all the doubts in the case, we do not have any alternative but the case to be handed over to the CBI for a through inquiry.”

State Vice President, BJP Yuva Morcha Kishore Kumar Puttur said that the death of IAS officer Ravi is a great loss to the nation. “His death echoed on the streets all over Karnataka. The BJP Yuva Morcha demands the union government to intervene and hand over the case to the CBI.” Kishore further said that Ravi was getting threat calls before his death. “He was a honest officer and in six years of his service, he had won the hearts of the people in the state. He was a inspiration to the present generation. When he was in Koppala as the CEO of Zilla Panchayat, he worked for the welfare of the people. He was the Deputy commissioner of Kolar and was recently deputed as the Joint Commissioner of State Commercial Taxes Department. Ravi was very strict on the land and sand mafia while working as the Deputy Commissioner for Kolar District, when he was transferred from Kolar, the people had protested against the government.”

Kishore said that the BJP Yuva Morcha will send a memorandum to the Governor as well as the Prime Minister to hand over the case to the CBI. Later a memorandum was handed over to the Governor through the Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim.
