The programme began with an invocation. The blood donation camp was inaugurated by MLA of Mangaluru South Constituency J R Lobo by lighting the traditional lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais.

Congratulating the organizers as well as the donors, Lobo said that blood donation is the best donation anyone can give. “Human beings are able to produce everything but so far we do not have any alternative for producing blood. One single unit of blood can save three lives. The organizers have taken the right decision by organizing a blood donation camp.” He further said that many a times people cannot afford medical expenses. In this regard, everyone should make use of the free medical camp organised by Dubois Friends.
